The special called meeting was called to order by Mayor Wyatt at 8:16 am at 206 Laurel Creek Road, Calhoun, Georgia 30701 which had been duly advertised. The meeting was called to pen and consider bids in connection with the purchase of a dump truck with monies approved by the current SPLOST funds. The matter was tabled for later that same day. On motion by Councilman Randy Keese seconded by Councilwoman Sandy Adams in order to gather the bidding information which had to be retrieved which passed unanimously.
Following this the bid information was retrieved, and the special called meeting was called back into session.
Councilman Randy Keese presented the opened bids as follows:
Ford dealership. A new Ford F450 diesel model, two-wheel drive, safety lights, and fully equipped per the specifications in the bid for $84,000.00
Day’s Chevrolet- A Chevrolet 3000 gas model with four-wheel drive without the safety lights that would have to be retrofitted or ordered for $78,493.00
A third bid from Greenway Dodge was never submitted.
Following this opening and presentation of the bids, upon motion by Councilman Randy Keese seconded by Councilman Todd Rutledge a motion was made to accept the bid of Ford company for $84,000 based on its responsiveness and availability for immediate delivery and the ability to have the vehicle serviced at a local Ford Dealership. The council then passed the motion amendment to approve the funding from the current SPLOST funds allocation. Whereupon the Council considered and approved the Amended Motion unanimously
There being no further business the meeting was adjourned on motion of Councilwoman Sandy Adams and a second by Councilman Todd Rutledge which passed unanimously.
