WORK SESSION
1. Call to order-Mayor Wyatt called the special meeting to order at 5:00pm
2. Executive Session to discuss litigation, property acquisition, and personnel: Pursuant to the provisions of O.C.G.A. ยง 50-14-1, the Town of Resaca could, at any time during the meeting, vote to close the public meeting and move to executive session to discuss matters relating to legal or personnel matters and/or to discuss real estate matters. Upon conclusion of the executive session, it is anticipated that the following motion be made by the City Council and Mayor: I move that the members of this body execute an affidavit that all discussions in the Executive Session conducted today were in accordance with the allowed provisions of the Open Meetings Laws and that each member of the Mayor and City Council shall execute an affidavit to that effect.
Mayor Wyatt asked for a motion to enter executive session for purposes of discussing litigation, property acquisition, and personnel. Councilmember Randy Keese made the motion to enter executive session at 5:01 pm. Councilmember Rene Keese seconded. All in favor. The motion passed. Councilmember Randy Keese made the motion to close the executive session. Councilwoman Sandy Adams seconded. All in favor. The motion passed. Executive session ended at 5:26pm. Mayor Wyatt asked for a motion to be made that all discussions were in accordance with the open meetings act and an affidavit will be signed to that effect. Councilman Randy Keese made the motion. Councilwoman Sandy Adams seconded. All in favor. Motion passed. Let the minutes reflect that Mayor Wyatt was not present for a portion of the executive session and stepped out at 5:24pm.
3. A. Discussion of upcoming agenda items for September 14th Regular Meeting
Councilmember Randy Keese added compliance officer under old business and under new business add hiring of compliance officer, budget funding for new hire, and zoning ordinance discussion. The application for pre-submission ordinance will need to be added and public hearing advertised. Candy Gomez will be added to work session. Discussion regarding buildings near river at 621 and 629 Nicklesville Rd.
B. Adam Rutledge sewer taps- Clerk will have 2 signatures sent over to Calhoun Utilities for authorization to connect to sewer.
C. Development application pre-submission ordinance-added to agenda for September.
D. Rena Clark-Community Center Rental proposal for public use-added to work session for September
4. Adjourn -Mayor Wyatt closed the work session at 5:35pm
