CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Wyatt opened the Special Called meeting and welcomed the law firm Bentley, Bentley, & Bentley. No others were present at the meeting. Mayor Wyatt asked Mr. Fred and Randall Bentley to introduce themselves. Fred Bentley presented the council with his credentials and history in law.
After the law firm’s introduction and engagement letter was presented, Mayor Wyatt asked that the council not enter an executive session. Mayor Wyatt asked for a motion to open vote. Councilwoman Adams made the motion. Councilman Rutledge seconded. All in favor. Mayor Wyatt asked for a motion to hire the law firm, Bentley, Bentley & Bentley, to represent the Town of Resaca. Councilwoman Adams made the motion to hire the law firm for representation. Councilwoman Keese seconded. The motion passed 3:1. Councilman Keese recused himself from voting due to prior acquaintance with Mr. Randall Bentley in the past.
Mayor Wyatt and council also discussed changing the Regular meeting day to the first Monday of each month. This item will be placed on the agenda for February 9, 2026.
ADJORN
Mayor Wyatt asked for a motion to adjourn the special called meeting. Councilman Rutledge made the motion. Councilwoman Adams seconded. All in favor. The meeting adjourned at 5:53 pm
