CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Wyatt welcomed everyone to the meeting of the Resaca City Council.
INVOCATION
Councilmember Brant Talley led the meeting in prayer.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Mayor Wyatt led the council meeting in the Pledge of Allegiance to the United
States flag.
MINUTES
Mayor Wyatt asked for a motion to waive the reading of the minutes from the May
meeting. Councilmember Keese made a motion to waive the reading of the
minutes. Councilmember Rutledge seconded the motion. All in favor, the motion
passed. Mayor Wyatt asked for a motion to approve the minutes from May meeting
and to have the July minutes reflect that a meeting was not held in June due to the
closed RR crossing and lack of quorum. Councilmember Keese made the motion
to accept the minutes. Councilmember Adams seconded the motion. All in favor.
The motion passed.
NEW BUSINESS
High Mast Lighting
Updates for interstate lighting were discussed during the work session. This will be
an expensive project. The council would like to have bidding opened to the public
for purchase of lights and the installation. This will likely be paid for with Splost
funding.
UPDATES & UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Community Center renovations will be removed from unfinished business. The
council is not satisfied with the bids that did not have provide enough details. The
bidders failed to contact the city regarding more details.
DEPARTMENT REPORTS
SHERIFF’S DEPT
Lt. Russ Jones gave the report for May and June. The reports are attached to
minutes. Councilmember Talley asked for more patrols on Riverview Dr. for
speeders. Councilmember Keese asked for more patrols in the area where semi-
trucks exit the Pilot.
RECREATION
Councilmember Rutledge gave the recreation report for May and June. Reports are
attached.
ROADS AND STREETS
Councilmember Keese would like to have any road signs that have climbing
vegetation to be sprayed with weed preventative.
LIGHTS
Councilmember Adams reported a light on Hill Street/ Walker Street to be fixed.
MAINTENANCE REPORT
Councilmember Talley reports on general maintenance duties including brush and
clutter removal. He mentioned paving at the lower subdivision. Councilmember
Keese suggested waiting until construction has been completed in the area.
Purchased signs for subdivision still need to be put out.
FROM THE FLOOR
Chad Steward gave updates for the county.
ADJOURNMENT
Mayor Wyatt asked for a motion to close the meeting. Councilmember Keese made
the motion to close the meeting. Councilmember Rutledge seconded the motion.
All in favor. The motion passed. Meeting adjourned at 7:19 PM.
