MINUTES

CALL TO ORDER

Mayor Wyatt welcomed everyone to the meeting of the Resaca City Council.

 

INVOCATION

Councilmember Brant Talley led the meeting in prayer.

 

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

Mayor Wyatt led the council meeting in the Pledge of Allegiance to the United States flag.

 

MINUTES

Mayor Wyatt asked for a motion to waive the reading of the minutes from the August meeting. Councilmember Talley made a motion to waive the reading of the minutes. Councilmember Rutledge seconded the motion. All in favor, the motion passed. Mayor Wyatt asked for a motion to approve the minutes from the August meeting. Councilmember Adams made the motion to accept the minutes. Councilmember Rutledge seconded the motion. All in favor. The motion passed.

 

 

 

 

NEW BUSINESS

 

Town Hall Parking Lot  

Mayor Wyatt asked for a motion to open bids for sealing and striping the Town Hall Parking lot. Councilmember Talley made motion to open bids. Councilmember Adams seconded. All in favor. The first bid is from CR Coatings @ $20,625.00. The second bid is Asphalt Kings @ $25,624.40. The third bid is T & S Paving @  $8,300.00. Councilmember Talley made a motion to take a brief recess for discussion and questions regarding lowest bid. Councilmember Rutledge seconded. All in favor.  The approval will be tabled until October meeting.

 

Shelving for courtroom  

Mayor Wyatt asked for a motion to vote on labor quote of $4,952.48 from Rusty Maddox to build shelving in courtroom as part of Splost project for Town Hall renovation. Any relics displayed in the shelving will be under an agreement that the Town is not responsible for the insurance the of the displayed artifacts.  Councilmember Rutledge made motion to approve the quote. Councilmember Adams seconded. All in favor. The motion passed.

 

Fall Festival Budget

Mayor Wyatt asked for a motion to approve a budget of $7,000.00 for the festival. Councilmember Adams made a motion to approve. Councilman Rutledge seconded. All in favor. The motion passed.

SHERIFFS DEPT

Lt. Jack Jenkins gave the report for August. The report is attached to minutes.

 

LIGHTS

No updates to report.

 

 

RECREATION

Councilmember Rutledge gave the recreation report. Report is attached.

 

ROADS AND STREETS

Councilmember Talley reports hole in the rideshare parking area and suggests no parking for the semitrucks and signage.  Councilmember Adams will contact the state to have it looked at.

 

MAINTENANCE REPORT

Councilmember Talley reports general work duties such as cleaning, hauling, mowing, and building renovation.

 

 

ADJOURNMENT

Mayor Wyatt asked for a motion to close the meeting.  Councilmember Talley made the motion to close the meeting. Councilmember Rutledge seconded the motion. All in favor.  Motion passed.
