CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Wyatt welcomed everyone to the meeting of the Resaca City Council.
INVOCATION
Councilmember Brant Talley led the meeting in prayer.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Mayor Wyatt led the council meeting in the Pledge of Allegiance to the United
States flag.
MINUTES
Mayor Wyatt asked for a motion to waive the reading of the minutes from the April
meeting. Councilmember Adams made a motion to waive the reading of the
minutes. Councilmember Keese seconded the motion. All in favor, the motion
passed. Mayor Wyatt asked for a motion to approve the minutes from the April
meeting. Councilmember Keese made the motion to accept the minutes.
Councilmember Adams seconded the motion. All in favor. The motion passed.
NEW BUSINESS
2025-2026 Fiscal Year Budget
Mayor Wyatt asked for a motion to approve the budget. Councilmember Keese
made the motion. Councilmember Adams seconded. All in favor. The motion
passed.
Mauldin Contract
There are no changes in contract. Mayor Wyatt asked for a motion to approve
contract. Councilmember Rutledge made the motion. Councilmember Keese
seconded. All in favor. The motion passed.
Alcohol License for Resaca Grocery
Mayor Wyatt asked for a motion to approve new alcohol license. Councilmember
Talley made the motion. Councilmember Adams seconded. All in favor. The
motion passed.
UPDATES & UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Bids for community center bathroom renovation will be tabled again until June.
The council would like to see more detailed description of work to be performed.
DEPARTMENT REPORTS
SHERIFF’S DEPT
Lt. Jack Jenkins gave the report for April. The report is attached to minutes.
RECREATION
Councilmember Rutledge gave the recreation report. Report is attached.
ROADS AND STREETS
Councilmember Keese has nothing new to report.
LIGHTS
Councilmember Adams reports lights are working. Interstate lighting is still being
pursued. A meeting is set for Thursday @ 11:30 to discuss time and cost. Any
news from the meeting will be reported at next council meeting. Councilmember
Keese asked about billboard signs for revenue. Councilmember Adams said that is
state property. There is a right of way located near the interstate but not close
enough proximity to have billboard advertisement. She expects the lighting at the
interstate will be a year long process.
MAINTENANCE REPORT
Councilmember Talley reports on general maintenance duties. The cemetery has
been cleared. Mowing will be done before the battle reenactment. Signs have been
delivered and will be put out at park and subdivision. Councilmember Keese has
offered to help Randy Wheat put the signs out. There are 6 “No Parking” signs and
2 signs regarding dogs to be leashed/clean up after dogs.
FINAL COMMENTS
Councilmember Keese inquired about donation to an upcoming event for children.
Attorney Elliot Noll will see if that is possible for legal reasons and notify Mayor
Wyatt.
ADJOURNMENT
Mayor Wyatt asked for a motion to close the meeting. Councilmember Talley made
the motion to close the meeting. Councilmember Keese seconded the motion. All
in favor. Motion passed. Meeting adjourned at 7:10 PM
