CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Wyatt welcomed everyone to the meeting of the Resaca City Council.
INVOCATION
Councilmember Brant Talley led the meeting in prayer.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Mayor Wyatt led the council meeting in the Pledge of Allegiance to the United
States flag.
MINUTES
Mayor Wyatt asked for a motion to waive the reading of the minutes from the
November meeting. Councilmember Keese made a motion to waive the reading of
the minutes. Councilmember Rutledge seconded the motion. All in favor, the
motion passed. Mayor Wyatt asked for a motion to approve the minutes of the
November meeting. Councilmember Adams made the motion to accept the
minutes. Councilmember Keese seconded the motion. All in favor. The motion
passed.
AMEND AGENDA
Mayor Wyatt asked for a motion to amend the agenda under New Business from
Ordinance Amendment to Ordinance Adoption. Councilman Keese made the
motion. Councilwoman Adams seconded. All in favor the motion passed.
NEW BUSINESS
Alcoholic Beverage License renewal
Mayor Wyatt asked for a motion to approve the renewal for Shiva 11 LLC (Resaca
Grocery). Councilwoman Adams made the motion. Councilman Keese seconded.
All in favor. The motion passed.
A special called meeting will be held next week for remaining renewals.
Ordinance adoption for Backyard Chickens
Mayor Wyatt asked for a motion to approve the backyard chicken ordinance with
the following amendments: 1. Chickens should be kept in backyard of residence,
not allowed to stray, and coups shall be covered. 2. Maximum six chickens are
allowed on less than 2 acres. Councilman Keese made the motion. Councilwoman
Adams seconded. All in favor. The motion passed.
UPDATES & UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Annexation and rezoning application for Kenneth Franklin
Mayor Wyatt asked for a motion to approve annexation for Kenneth Franklin.
Councilman Talley made the motion. Councilman Rutledge seconded. The motion
passed 3:1. Councilwoman Adams opposed.
Mayor Wyatt asked for a motion to approve the rezoning from Gordon County A-1
to Resaca R-1. Councilman Talley made the motion. Councilman Rutledge
seconded. The motion passed 3:1. Councilwoman Adams opposed.
Community Center Bathroom
Mayor Wyatt will table the matter to January.
DEPARTMENT REPORTS
SHERIFF’S DEPT
Jack Jenkins gave the report for November. The report is attached to minutes.
RECREATION
Councilmember Rutledge gave the recreation report for November. Report is
attached.
ROADS AND STREETS
Councilman Keese has concerns with some of the state routes and would like to
contact the state. Councilwoman Adams will provide the contact number.
LIGHTS
Nothing to report.
MAINTENANCE REPORT
Councilman Talley reports on general maintenance. He would like to see Randy
Wheat follow up with the community center bathroom renovations. They need
painted and updated because it is a high traffic area.
FROM THE FLOOR
Chad Steward gave updates on county business.
ADJOURNMENT
Mayor Wyatt asked for a motion to close the meeting. Councilman Keese made the
motion to close the meeting. Councilwoman Adams seconded the motion. All in
favor. The motion passed. Meeting adjourned at 7:19 PM.
