REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING

MINUTES

CALL TO ORDER

Mayor Wyatt welcomed everyone to the meeting of the Resaca City Council.

 

INVOCATION

Councilmember Brant Talley led the meeting in prayer.

 

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

Mayor Wyatt led the council meeting in the Pledge of Allegiance to the United States flag.

 

MINUTES

Mayor Wyatt asked for a motion to waive the reading of the minutes from the March meeting. Councilmember Keese made a motion to waive the reading of the minutes. Councilmember Rutledge seconded the motion. All in favor, the motion passed. Mayor Wyatt asked for a motion to approve the minutes from the March meeting. Councilmember Adams made the motion to accept the minutes. Councilmember Keese seconded the motion. All in favor. The motion passed.

 

 

 

 

 

NEW BUSINESS

 

Bids for Community Center bathroom renovation

Two bids were received for the renovation. The council would like to have a more detailed description from each bidder. Mayor Wyatt asked to table the matter until next month. Councilmember Rutledge made the motion. Councilmember Keese seconded. All in favor. The motion passed.

 

Amend the agenda

Mayor Wyatt asked to amend the agenda to include resurfacing rubber quote for the playground area. The quote from Backyard Safety Surfacing is $12,914.22. It includes stone base around tables and benches to level subgrade and the resurfacing rubber. Councilmember Rutledge made the motion to approve the cost. Councilmember Keese seconded the motion. All in favor. The motion passed. The cost will be paid with Splost funds.

 

Mayor Wyatt amended agenda to add tile to Sunshine Drive with expense to be in the range of $13,000.00. This will prevent flooding and allow drainage in that area. Councilmember Talley made motion to approve expense. Councilmember Adams seconded. All in favor, the motion passed. The cost will be paid from Splost Funds.

DEPARTMENT REPORTS

 

 

SHERIFF’S DEPT

Lt. Jack Jenkins gave the report for March. The report is attached to minutes.

 

RECREATION

Councilmember Rutledge gave the recreation report. Report is attached.

 

ROADS AND STREETS

Mayor Wyatt reports county cutting grass at subdivision and Taylor Ridge area.

 

LIGHTS

Councilmember Adams will check with NGEMC on lighting at the interstate.

 

MAINTENANCE REPORT

Councilmember Talley reports on general maintenance duties. With Mayor’s approval, he suggested adding signs at the playground for keeping dogs leashed and cleaning up after them. Mayor Wyatt approved the clerk to order signs.

Chad Steward gave updates from county.

 

ADJOURNMENT

Mayor Wyatt asked for a motion to close the meeting. Councilmember Adams made the motion to close the meeting. Councilmember Talley seconded the motion. All in favor.  Motion passed. Meeting closed at 7:10 PM
