CALL TO ORDER

Mayor Allen welcomed everyone to the meeting of the Resaca City Council.

NVOCATION

Councilman Todd Rutledge lead the meeting in prayer.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

Mayor Allen led the council meeting in the Pledge of Allegiance to the United States flag.

MINUTES

Mayor Allen ask for a motion to waive the reading of the minutes from the May meeting Councilman Barton made a motion to waive the reading of the minutes. Councilwman Wyatt seconded the motion. All in favor, the motion passed. Mayor Allen ask for a motion to approve the minutes from August meeting. Councilman Barton made the motion to accept the minutes. Councilman Wyatt seconded the motion. All in favor. The motion passed.

NEW BUSINESS

 Computers in the Library

The computers in the library are outdate and not working properly. The clerk was told to purchase 2 new computers from the Rec Fund to replace the old ones. Councilwoman Adams made a motion to purchase new computers at a budget of $1000.00. Councilman Rutledge seconded the motion. All in favor. The motion passed.

Approved Intergovernmental Agreement with Gordon County Board of Elections

Councilman Barton made a motion to approve the Intergovernmental Agreement with Gordon County Board of Elections. Councilman Wyatt seconded the motion. All in favor. The motion passed.

Printer Lease Renewal

The clerk gave the options that we have to choose from in 2 months when our printer lease is up. The Mayor and council decided to renew the lease with an upgraded version of the one we presently have. The lease amount will decrease to $111.00 per month after we upgrade. Councilman Wyatt made a motion to upgrade to the new printer. Councilman Rutledge seconded the motion. All in favor. The motion passed.

UPDATES

Sewer update. Robert Peoples gave an update on where we are at on the project. It was reported that Lane Greeson is not going to sign the easement. The other option is to cut it off at his location for the time being.

DEPARTMENT REPORTS

ROAD AND STREETS

Councilwoman Adams reported that she checked on getting a guardrail install below Jimmy Browns. Traffic Operations did a study and there have not been enough accidents at that location to justify putting guard rails. They are now using friction force and they might could do that.

Sheriff’s Report

Deputy Flippen gave the report. The report is attached to minutes.

LIGHTS

Councilwoman Adams report no light problems at this time. NGEMC says they are still waiting on lights that have been ordered.

RECREATION

Councilman Rutledge gave the recreation report. Report is attached.

MAINTENANCE REPORT

Maintenance Randy Wheat advised he started mowing today. Councilwoman Adams ask if he could get the maps hung this week.

Mayor Allen asked for a motion to adjourn the meeting. Councilwoman Adams made a motion to close the meeting. Councilman Rutledge seconded the motion. All in favor. The motion passed.
