TOWN OF RESACA SPECIAL CALLED MEETING & REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING

MEMBERS PRESENT: Samuel Allen, Mayor Justin Barton, Councilman – Not Present Nathan Wyatt, Councilman Todd Rutledge, Councilman Sandy Adams – Councilwoman ALSO PRESENT: Kelly Shaw – Clerk Attorney Brandon Bowen

CALL TO ORDER

Mayor Allen welcomed everyone to the meeting of the Resaca City Council.

PUBLIC HEARING – BUDGET HEARING

The hearing was delayed due to not having a quorum at 6pm. Mayor Allen opened the budget hearing and ask for any questions from the public. Hearing no comments from the public, the hearing was closed.

INVOCATION

Councilman Todd Rutledge lead the meeting in prayer.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

Mayor Allen led the council meeting in the Pledge of Allegiance to the United States flag.

MINUTES

Mayor Allen ask for a motion to waive the reading of the minutes from the June meeting Councilwoman Adams made a motion to waive the reading of the minutes. Councilman Wyatt seconded the motion. All in favor, the motion passed. Mayor Allen ask for a motion to approve the minutes from June meeting. Councilman Wyatt made the motion to accept the minutes. Councilwoman Adams seconded the motion. All in favor. The motion passed.

NEW BUSINESS

Vote on the Bryant Annexation Councilman Wyatt made a motion to accept the annexation for Tammy Bryant. Councilwoman Adams seconded the motion. All in favor. The motion passed Vote on Stanley Simpson Re-zoning Attorney Bowen gave an update on the conditions of the Re-zoning. There were several comments from the public. The vote was tabled until July 18th at 6pm to give Attorney Bowen time to draft a document to show the conditions. Councilwoman Adams made a motion to table the vote. Councilman Rutledge seconded the motion. All in favor. There will be a special meeting next Tuesday to vote on the re-zoning. Vote to approved revised budget for 2016-2017 Councilwoman Adams made a motion to approve the revised budget for 2016-2017. Councilman Wyatt seconded the motion. All in favor. The motion passed

UPDATES

Sewer update – The Mayor gave an update on the sewer project. Civil War Relics – Will be discussed at the next work session in August. Computers in Library – The computers have been purchased and are installed in the library

DEPARTMENT REPORTS

ROAD AND STREETS:  Councilman Wyatt gave a report Sheriff’s Report:  Lt. Shaw gave the report. The report is attached to minutes. LIGHTS:  Councilwoman Adams report no light problems at this time. RECREATION:  Councilman Rutledge gave the recreation report. Report is attached. MAINTENANCE REPORT:  Nothing to report.

ADJOURMENT

Mayor Allen asked for a motion to adjourn the meeting. Councilwoman Adams made a motion to close the meeting. Councilman Rutledge seconded the motion. All in favor. The motion passed.
