CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Allen called the meeting of the Resaca City Council to order.

INVOCATION
Mayor Allen asked Councilman Talley to lead the group in prayer.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Mayor Allen led the council meeting in the Pledge of Allegiance to the United States flag.

MINUTES
Councilman Talley made the motion to waive the reading of the minutes for the October 14, 2014 meeting and the October 21,2014 Special Meeting. Councilwoman Makonis seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
Councilman Talley made the motion to adopt the minutes as read. Councilwoman Makonis seconded the motion. The motion was passed unanimously.

NEW BUSINESS
Approve Contract for New Light for Flag Pole – Hayes Electrical turned in quote for $2500.00 to install the meter and new light for the flag pole in the parking lot of Town Hall. Councilwoman Makonis made the motion to accept the contract. Councilman Barton seconded the motion. The motion was passed unanimously.

Approve Contract for the Exterior Painting of Town Hall – Elymar Painting gave a quote of $3447.00 to paint the exterior of the building including the soffits and the concrete building in front of Town Hall. Councilwoman Makonis made the motion to accept the contract. Mayor Pro Tem Reed seconded the motion. The motion was passed unanimously.

Approve Contract for Painting the Fire Hall – Elymar Painting gave a quote of 2196.00 to paint the outside of the Fire Hall. Councilwoman Makonis made the motion to accept the contract. Councilman Talley seconded the motion. The motion was passed unanimously.

Bid Awards for the Ingle House (HVAC) – Ricky Smith was the low bid on the HVAC at $16,200. Mayor Pro Tem Reed made the motion to accept the bid at the recommendation of Michael Brown.

Bid Award for the Ingle House (Plumbing) – Ricky Smith Construction was the low bid on the plumbing at $3,700. Councilman Barton made the motion to accept the bid at the recommendation of Michael Brown. Mayor Pro Tem Reed seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.

Purple Heart City Proclamation – Mayor Allen read the Proclamation and signed the Proclamation declaring The Town of Resaca a Purple Heart City. Veteran representative Marvin Garner and his wife was in attendance. Mr. Garner gave a brief history of Resaca. He also gave a brief history of the Purple Heart Award of which he is a recipient.

UPDATES
Budget Amendment – Councilwoman Makonis presented an amended budget for the year 2015 that is adjusted and balanced. Copies were given to Mayor, Council and Clerk. Councilman Talley made the motion to approve the 2015 amended budget. Mayor Pro Tem Reed seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.

Sewer Application Update – Mayor Pro Tem Reed gave an update from Dan McBee on his report from the water and soil testing for Phase II of the sewer project. The report is on file in the Clerk’s Office.

Sheriff’s Report
Lt. Jack Jenkins gave the Sheriff’s Office Report – copy attached to minutes.

ROAD AND STREETS
Nothing to report
Community Improvement
Nothing to report

LIGHTS
Councilwoman Makonis said that there will be a light placed at the flag pole in the parking lot of Town Hall and the Ingle House will have a light installed to highlight the house.

RECREATION
Councilman Talley gave the recreation report. Report is attached.

MAINTENANCE

The mowing was done today. Nothing else to report.

FROM THE FLOOR
Mrs. Choates ask why she received another letter from the attorney about her property. The Council advised her that the letter was from the Ordinance Officer and they would have him contact her.
Mr. Garner announced that he was involved in the Habitat for Humanity and that they would be having a meeting next Tuesday night at 6pm at the Restore on Oothcalooga Street. He invited everyone to come out and help.

ADJOURMENT
Mayor Pro Tem Reed made the motion to adjourn the council meeting. Councilwoman Makonis seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
